That makes two of three covers in which Lois is relegated to the background. Let’s hope the covers aren’t mirroring the story within; it would make me bitter indeed if Lois wasn’t actually the main character of this book.

So the picture above was on The Source with the file name: lois_lane.
Hopefully that won’t be the cover art for Lois Lane & The Resistance #03ETA: It just occurred to me that the pic is most probably Lois’ logo
But what I found incredibly amusing was Abnett’s answers:
The world of FLASHPOINT has been cloaked in secrecy. What’s the hardest part of not spilling the beans?
“I keep having to shout at my cats to vent my excess excitement, so I’m probably looking at serious vet bills right now.”
We’re going to ask the impossible. Can you sum up the series you are working on in five words–or less?
“Peppermint aardvark plethora corduroy– no, it appears I can’t.”
How often do you get asked questions you can’t answer about the world of FLASHPOINT?
“I can’t answer that question.”
One of the central conceits of the FLASHPOINT world is that we’ll see the DC Universe in a way we’ve never seen it before. (Without ruining/spoiling major plot points that we should keep under wraps…) What in the mini-series you are working on is going to make fans sit back and say, “I’ve never seen that before?”
“Diana as a full on Amazonian warrior, true to her heritage. That’s scary. And Lois Lane at her most resourceful and determined.”
The second one is probably my favorite answer lol
I’m still uneasy about Diana, but Lois sounds awesome as always.
Check out the Source here, here and here for more of this interview, with more to be posted later today, probably.
Despite my feelings on most of the other minis… I’m still SUPER excited to see Lois in action.
Newsarama has released the full DC Solicitations for June, so we now know when Lois Lane and the Resistance will be available! Look for issue 1 of 3 at your local comic shop on June 22nd.

Who else is excited for this?

Hello all. Sorry for the long silence from this tumblr. We have our reasons - most of them having to do with real life issues, unfortunately – but rest assured that we’re still committed to this cause and have been doing work behind the scenes.
There have been a couple pieces of exciting Lois comics news the past week. By now you’ve probably heard about the Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance mini series, presumed to be written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with Art by Harvey Tolibao. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m super excited. Seeing Lois’ name in the title of a book warms the cockles of my heart.
Also, today the DC Universe Source announced that this Wednesday’s Superman 80 Page Giant 2011 #1 would feature a Lois story from the team of Paul Tobin & Colleen Coover, fantastic news for us. Especially since in the post on the subject, Wil Moss referenced our twitter campaign for a Lois series! Check out a page below, and click HERE if you want to see the blog post in question:
Now, since we do have DC’s attention, we’d like to put our money where our mouths are in the following months. The details haven’t been entirely hashed out quite yet, but we’d like to do a campaign leading up to Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance to advertise the book around the web, encouraging people to buy the book while generally talking up Lois as a character some more, in the hopes that we can help boost the sales by word of mouth. If we want a Lois Lane ongoing, we have to show DC that there is a paying market for the book. Keep your eyes on this account for more details in the next two weeks or so.
I mentioned that there has been some behind the scenes work going on while this tumblr has been silent. I was referencing a large project Floru_( aka Sadie Blodgett) and I have been working on for some months, namely, a Lois Lane-centric fansite. I was really frustrated by how difficult it was to find Lois Lane information while organizing out first campaign, and decided that we needed a comprehensive Lois database. Of course if I wanted one I’d have to make it myself and one thing led to another (with liberal help from the enablers on twitter), and now the site is well on its way towards creation. We’ve been going through and gathering data on Lois in every medium, everything from quotes and trivia, to merchandise, to interviews, to an exhaustive list of her appearances in comics, television, radio and film. We’re still working on a lot of raw data collection, so I imagine the site itself won’t go online until sometime this summer at the earliest. I’m posting about it rather early because I’d like to invite y’all to make our lives easier. If you have any creator interviews that mention Lois saved in your bookmarks, if you have knowledge of any obscure Lois merchandise, information on the Superman Broadway play, rare photos, any information Lois related that you’d like to share, please email me at loislaneinfo@gmail.com. Likewise email me if you’d like to volunteer to write copy for the site; we’ve got quite a lot to get done still.
Here’s to hoping 2011 is our girl’s year.
